A two-day health camp was successfully conducted at Lal Bazar, Mangan with the objective of promoting preventive healthcare services and creating awareness among the public regarding various health conditions and government health schemes.
Mangan, May 21: A two-day health camp was successfully conducted at Lal Bazar, Mangan with the objective of promoting preventive healthcare services and creating awareness among the public regarding various health conditions and government health schemes.
On the first day, the camp was organized by the NCD Cell and DTC Centre, Mangan. In accordance with the observation of World Hypertension Day, awareness was created on hypertension, its prevention, regular blood pressure monitoring, healthy lifestyle practices, and the importance of early detection. Population Based Screening for Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) was also carried out by the NCD Cell. Various health services including NCD screening, Cy-TB testing, sputum collection, and Chest X-ray facilities were provided during the camp.
A total of 96 individuals were screened under the NCD programme on the first day. Under TB screening services, 62 individuals underwent Cy-TB testing and related screening procedures. Members of the public actively participated and availed the screening services.
On the second day, the health camp was conducted jointly by the NCD Cell, DTC Centre, AIDS Cell, and PMJAY Cell. Population Based Screening for Non-Communicable Diseases continued during the camp, during which 71 individuals were screened under the NCD programme. Screening services for HIV, Syphilis, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C were carried out by the AIDS Cell and ICTC.
A total of 56 individuals availed these screening services. TB screening activities, including sputum collection, also continued on the second day, during which 28 individuals underwent TB-related screening. The PMJAY Cell provided information and assistance regarding Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY health benefits and registration-related queries.
The camp witnessed good public participation and helped in spreading awareness regarding early detection, prevention, and treatment of various diseases.
