Tourism Minister reviews progress of Singshore bridge glass-deck skywalk project.
Gyalshing, August 11 (IPR): Tourism & Civil Aviation Minister Mr Tshering T Bhutia today inspected the ongoing Singshore Bridge Glass-deck Skywalk project near Uttarey under Maneybong-Dentam in Gyalshing district.
The tourism infrastructure project is being developed with support from the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) under the PM-DevINE scheme.
The project aims to transform the iconic Singshore Bridge, located between Dentam and Uttarey, into a major tourist and adventure destination featuring a transparent glass-floored skywalk and bungee jumping facilities.
Construction work is progressing at a steady pace under the supervision of the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department, Government of Sikkim.
During the inspection, Minister Bhutia took stock of the progress of the project and directed the executing agency to expedite construction while ensuring that prescribed quality standards are maintained. He also assured all possible support from the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department for the timely and quality completion of the project.
The transformation of Singshore Bridge into a glass-deck skywalk is expected to further strengthen Sikkimâs tourism infrastructure and enhance the adventure-tourism potential of the State.
