Three-Day Sikkim Utsav 2026 Concludes Successfully in Mangan

Mangan, April 19 (IPR): The three-day Sikkim Utsav 2026, Mangan Chapter concluded successfully today at the Mangan Nagar Panchayat Hall, marking the culmination of a vibrant celebration of entrepreneurship, culture, and local enterprise.

The valedictory programme was graced by Minister, Forest & Environment Department Mr Pintso Namgyal Lepcha as the Chief Guest, along with host of other dignitaries, senior officials, and representatives from various departments.

At the outset, the Chief Guest and dignitaries visted the exhibition stalls and engaged with entrepreneurs and participants, appreciating the diverse range of locally produced goods, including food products, handicrafts, and traditional attire.

The Chief Guest, Minister Mr Pintso Namgyal Lepcha, in his address, expressed appreciation to the Commerce & Industries Department for successfully organising the three-day programme for Mangan district. He congratulated all participating entrepreneurs and stall owners, extending his best wishes for their continued growth and success.

The Minister stated that in the coming days, entrepreneurship will play a pivotal role in shaping a better and self-reliant future.

He further highlighted the vision of “Sunaulo, Samriddha and Samarth Sikkim” under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang, aimed at fostering inclusive growth and economic prosperity across the State.

Emphasising the importance of value addition, the Chief Guest noted that while Sikkim already possesses some of the best organic raw materials, there is a need to further improve packaging and presentation to enhance marketability and branding. He encouraged entrepreneurs to adopt modern marketing strategies and focus on quality packaging to compete in wider markets.

He further expressed confidence that with sustained efforts and government support, Sikkim will soon emerge as a model State in terms of economic growth and entrepreneurial development.

Earlier, three women entrepreneurs, Ms Sangay Doma Bhutia, Ms Priyanka Rai and Ms Manisha Rai, shared their positive feedback and experiences from participating in the Utsav. They expressed gratitude to the organisers for providing a valuable platform to showcase their products, interact with customers, and gain meaningful market exposure. They further highlighted that such initiatives not only boost confidence but also encourage women entrepreneurs to pursue and expand their ventures with greater determination.

The programme also had an award ceremony for Best Performing Entrepreneur and Best Packaging which were conferred upon Ms Sonam Kipu Bhutia and Ms Sangay Doma Bhutia respectively, in recognition of their outstanding performance and innovation.

Earlier, the Chief Guest and other dignitaries were also felicitated with token of appreciation as a mark of respect and gratitude.

Chairpersons, SP Mangan, Joint Secretary (MSME), Commerce & Industries Department, General Manager, DIC, Gangtok & Mangan, Counsellors, OSDs, ADC (Development) Mangan, DFO (Territorial), DFO (Social Forestry), SHO Mangan, BDO Dzongu, MEO MNP and officials from various departments, biker groups and entrepreneurs.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by State Organisation Secretary SEED Cell, Mr Tashi Ongdup Lepcha who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, participating departments, entrepreneurs, and the public for their support in making the event a grand success.
