As part of the ongoing outreach and awareness campaign for SIKKIM RISE, a series of stakeholder consultations were conducted in Namchi district to strengthen participation and collaboration among government institutions, educational establishments, and aspiring entrepreneurs.
Namchi, June 15: As part of the ongoing outreach and awareness campaign for SIKKIM RISE, a series of stakeholder consultations were conducted in Namchi district to strengthen participation and collaboration among government institutions, educational establishments, and aspiring entrepreneurs.
During the visit, Shri Dipen Subba, OSD, Commerce & Industries Department, Government of Sikkim, and General Secretary, SEED Cell, met with Ms. Anupa Tamling, District Collector, Namchi, and briefed her on the objectives and vision of SIKKIM RISE. Discussions focused on promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, and ensuring wider participation of youth, students, startups, and aspiring entrepreneurs from the district.
Subsequently, a meeting was held with Mr. Dinesh Pradhan, General Manager, District Industries Centre (DIC), Namchi, to discuss collaborative efforts for outreach, awareness generation, and mobilization of local entrepreneurs and innovators under the SIKKIM RISE initiative.
The outreach programme also included an interaction with the Principal and faculty members associated with the Incubation Centre at CCCT, Chisopani, where discussions centered on nurturing innovation, strengthening incubation support, and encouraging students to actively participate in SIKKIM RISE.
Further, a meeting was conducted with the Principal-cum-Director, Heads of Departments, and faculty members of SIST Technical College, Chisopani, to explore avenues for collaboration and enhance student engagement in entrepreneurship, innovation, and startup development initiatives and encourage participation in Sikkim Rise.
The meetings highlighted the importance of institutional partnerships in building a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem in Sikkim and generating greater awareness about opportunities available through SIKKIM RISE.
Shri Dipen Subba was accompanied by Mr. Bikash Basnett, Joint Secretary, SEED Cell, during the meetings.
SIKKIM RISE is a flagship initiative under the Sikkim Inspires Programme of the Commerce & Industries Department, Government of Sikkim, aimed at identifying, nurturing, and empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs and innovators across the state.
