Namchi, September 22 (IPR): Area MLA of 11-Namchi-Singhithang Constituency Mr Satish Chandra Rai, today inaugurated a house constructed under the Sikkim Garib Awas Yojana (SGAY) for beneficiary Mr Harkaman Rai at Lower Kopchey Ward, Mickhola-Singithang GPU, under Namchi Block.
The programme was organised under the aegis of the Rural Development Department, Government of Sikkim, as part of the State Government’s continued efforts to improve living conditions and provide secure housing to economically weaker sections of society.
The inauguration programme was attended by Advisor to the Panchayati Raj Department Ms Rama Tamang, OSD to the MLA S J Lepcha, former Chairman Mr Tashi Tamang, BDO Namchi Mr Upendra Rai, Panchayat President Mr Suren Rai and Panchayat representatives of Mickhola-Singithang GPU.
The beneficiary Mr Harkaman Rai, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang, for extending housing assistance under the scheme. He conveyed his appreciation for the provision of a house, along with the required furniture, which he stated would significantly enhance his family’s living standards and overall well-being.
