Pakyong, August 01 (IPR): As part of the observance of World Breastfeeding Week 2026, being observed from August 1 to 7, Additional District Collector Pakyong, Mr Sabindra Rai administered the World Breastfeeding Week 2026 Pledge at the District Administrative Centre (DAC), Pakyong, today.
The pledge reaffirmed the commitment to strengthening the "Warm Chain" of support for breastfeeding mothers by promoting shared responsibility and recognising that breastfeeding is a collective effort requiring active support from partners, fathers, healthcare providers, colleagues and communities.
It further emphasised the commitment to creating a sustainable support system where every mother feels protected, valued and empowered to breastfeed, ensuring every child receives the healthiest start in life.
The pledge had the presence of Mr NK Bhandari; Deputy Ditector, LR&DMD, Mr Subash Dhakal; Deputy Director, ICDS, Women, Child, Senior Citizen and Divyangjan Welfare Department, Ms Gaki D Phempu; DIO, IPRD, Ms Deeki D Bhutia; RO/AD, Mr Kiran Chettri and Mr Praewsh Dahal along with police personnel and staff from various departments under District Administrative Centre, Pakyong.
The World Breastfeeding Week 2026 Pledge was also undertaken by officials and staff of various departments at their respective offices across the sub-divisions of Pakyong district.
