A programme marking the commencement of live submission of applications under the Online Property Registration Application was conducted by the Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP) Cell, Land Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Government of Sikkim, at the Conference Hall of the District Administrative Centre, Pakyong, today.
The Online Property Registration Application under the Integrated Land Records Management System was officially launched by the Chief Minister, Mr Prem Singh Tamang, on 15th August 2025.
The event was graced by MLA West Pendam and Advisor LR&DM, IT Departments, Mr LB Das. In his address, he highlighted the importance of digital transformation in governance, emphasising how technology has simplified human life and made administrative processes more efficient. He noted that the Online Property Registration Application will help eliminate manual errors and streamline the workflow, ensuring accuracy and transparency in property registration.
He further urged District Administration to conduct awareness programmes to educate the public about the new system and encouraged citizens to make full use of the facility. By digitising and simplifying the entire process, he said, the initiative replaces queues with clicks, ensuring greater convenience for all users.
He also congratulated the officials and the DILRMP team for their dedicated efforts in implementing the project.
Secretary, LR&DM Department-cum-Relief Commissioner, Mr MT Sherpa, congratulated Pakyong District on the commencement of live submission under the new system. He stated that the initiative would greatly benefit the public by saving time and enhancing administrative efficiency.
He highlighted the application’s key advantages, including its citizen-centric design, accuracy, transparency, easy record maintenance, reduced paperwork, and real-time tracking features. He further urged the public to actively utilise the system and assured that technical teams will assist in case of any difficulties during registration. He also informed that the application will be rolled out simultaneously across all districts of the State.
During the programme, an introductory video demonstrating the step-by-step process for online property registration was screened.
Likewise, two applicants also carried out live submissions, showcasing the ease and efficiency of the digital process from application to post-registration steps. The applicants shared their positive experiences, describing the system as a smooth and user-friendly alternative to the earlier manual process.
