Officials Inspect Basnet Jhora Project Following Soil Settlement Concerns
Pakyong, June 25 (IPR): A joint site inspection of the Basnet Jhora project under Namcheybong Constituency was conducted by the Secretary, Water Resources Department, Mr LD Lamtha and District Collector Pakyong, Ms Pari Bishnoi accompanied by a departmental team comprising the Principal Chief Engineer (PCE), Mr Rajiv Subba; Divisional Engineer (DE), Assistant Engineer (AE), and Junior Engineer (JE). The inspection was also attended by the Deputy Director of Land Revenue & Disaster Management (LR&DM), the Ward Panchayat, and local residents.
The inspection was undertaken in view of the settlement of soil mass observed along the project area. During the visit, the team carried out an on-site assessment of the prevailing condition and reviewed the extent of the issue in consultation with the concerned stakeholders.
The officials examined the affected area in detail and discussed the possible causes and implications of the soil settlement. The concerns and observations shared by local residents were also taken into consideration during the course of the inspection.
Following the site assessment, necessary remedial measures were deliberated upon to address the issue and to ensure the safety and stability of the project area. The concerned departments were advised to take appropriate follow-up action based on the technical assessment and recommendations made during the inspection.
