Soreng, September 28 (IPR): A monthly meeting of the District-Level Narco-Coordination Centre (NCORD) for the months of August and September was convened at the Video Conference Room, District Administrative Centre (DAC), Soreng.
The meeting was chaired by the District Collector, Soreng, Mr Dhiraj Subedi, and was attended by officers, representatives of the concerned departments and agencies associated with the NCORD.
The meeting reviewed matters related to prevention and control of narcotic drugs and substance abuse, including the progress of measures undertaken by the concerned departments and agencies, enforcement-related issues, awareness activities, and inter-departmental coordination.
During the meeting, the participating departments and agencies briefed on the updates and status under their respective departments. (NCB) Narcotics Control Bureau informed that (ANTF) Anti Narcotics Task Force in the district was to be established. All inspections and activities were carried out by the concerned departments and no cases of drug trafficking or other related issues were reported within the two months span.
The meeting also deliberated on the issues and challenges faced in addressing drug-related activities and substance abuse, with emphasis on strengthening coordination, preventive measures, awareness and enforcement efforts.
The District Collector reviewed and intimated necessary directions to the concerned departments for strengthening coordinated efforts and ensuring timely follow-up on the decisions taken during the meeting.
It was also intimated that the police department to establish (ANTF) in the district as per the guidelines.
The meeting concluded with directions for continued inter-departmental coordination and effective implementation.
