Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme at Ringdang Singhik, Mangan Concludes


Mangan, January 28 (IPR): The Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOP) organised by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) and Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Gangtok, in collaboration with the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) and Sikkim Urja Limited, at Ringdang Singhik, Mangan District, North Sikkim came to a conclusion today.

The two-day outreach programme was aimed at strengthening public awareness of key Government of India welfare schemes, ensuring last-mile information dissemination, and promoting informed citizen participation at the grassroots level.

The inaugural session was graced by Chairman, Sikkim Welfare Commission, Mr Nim Tshering Lepcha as the Chief Guest, while Mr Palden Bhutia, General Manager, Sikkim Urja Limited Mr Palden Bhutia and Regional Provident Fund Commissioner, EPFO, Gangtok, Mr Kesang N. Tenzing attended as Special Guests.

The programme featured interactive and patriotic activities, including a Quiz Competition, Patriotic Song Competition, and Vande Mataram Recitation, which witnessed enthusiastic participation, particularly from the staff of Sikkim Urja Limited, fostering awareness and national consciousness.

The valedictory programme was held today in the presence of District Collector, Mangan, Mr Anant Jain as the Chief Guest.

The session was also attended by General Manager (Security), Sikkim Urja Limited, Col (Retd.) Rajesh Kumar Das and Regional PF Commissioner, EPFO, Gangtok, Mr Kesang N. Tenzing along with officials and staff of Sikkim Urja Limited.

The welcome address was delivered by Mr Manas Pratim Sarma, Assistant Director, PIB & Akashvani News, Gangtok, who outlined the objectives of the ICOP and emphasised its importance in creating informed and empowered communities.

In his address, District Collector, Mangan, Mr Anant Jain highlighted the benefits of various government welfare schemes and urged citizens to proactively avail themselves of these initiatives for inclusive and sustainable development.

The programme concluded with the distribution of trophies and certificates to all participants, recognising their active involvement and commendable performances.

The ICOP successfully served as a vital platform for effective government communication, community engagement, and awareness generation in the region.
