Pakyong, February 05 (IPR):
A joint inspection led by MLA-cum-Advisor for Information Technology (IT), Land Revenue and Disaster Management Department and Information and Public Relations Department, Mr LB Das was carried out to assess the damages caused by construction works by the Indian Railway Construction International Limited (IRCON) at the Rangpo Belt today.
The inspection team comprised representatives from Rangpo Nagar Panchayat; Land Revenue and Disaster Management Department; Mines & Geology Department; Forest and Environment Department; Indian Railway Construction International Limited; Information and Public Relations Department along with officials from various line departments.
The inspection followed grievances raised by local residents of Majhitar Daragaon, who reported multiple issues arising from the ongoing IRCON construction activities, including the disruption of drinking water pipelines and other infrastructural impacts.
During the visit, MLA Mr LB Das inspected the affected houses and interacted with the impacted families. He further engaged in conversation with the residents and acknowledged their concerns, assuring that necessary steps would be taken in consultation with the state government and IRCON to address the issues and provide appropriate assistance at the earliest.
Additionally, the inspection team also conducted a detailed examination of damages to residential structures as well as the surrounding infrastructure and landscape caused due to the ongoing construction works.
It was further decided that the concerned departments would jointly prepare a comprehensive physical and collective assessment report, which will be submitted to the District Collector for further necessary action.
