Gangtok District Achieves 88.4 % Digitisation of Enumeration Forms under SIR 2026

Gangtok, June 27 (IPR): Gangtok district has achieved 88.4 % digitisation of Enumeration Forms (EFs) under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026, with 1,08,055 forms digitised so far.

The district has also recorded significant progress in the distribution of Enumeration Forms, with 1,21,852 EFs distributed out of 1,22,240 eligible electors, registering 99.68 % coverage. This milestone has been made possible through the dedicated efforts of the Booth Level Officers (BLOs), who have reached out to eligible electors, including senior citizens and Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), despite the district's challenging terrain.

To enhance public awareness and encourage greater participation, the Election Department has launched a sensitisation campaign through mobile van miking, urging electors to cooperate with BLOs during the distribution and collection of Enumeration Forms. Simultaneously, BLOs have intensified the digitisation process to ensure timely completion in accordance with the schedule prescribed by the Election Commission of India (ECI) for the distribution and collection of EFs under SIR 2026.
