Pakyong, September 08 (IPR): District Police, Pakyong conducted a cyber crime awareness programme at Mamring Government Senior Secondary School today to educate students and teachers on cybercrime and preventive measures.
During the programme, SDPO Pakyong, Mr Bikash Rai informed participants about fake shopping and parcel scams, OTP/PIN fraud, sextortion, cyberbullying, and UPI and QR code fraud. The session highlighted common methods used in cyber fraud and the importance of exercising caution while using digital platforms and sharing personal or financial information online.
The students were also informed about the National Cyber Crime Helpline 1930 and the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal at www.cybercrime.gov.in for prompt reporting of cyber-related incidents.
Special emphasis was placed on creating awareness among students and teachers regarding responsible and safe use of digital platforms and the need to remain vigilant against emerging cyber threats.
