District Administrative Centre Observes ‘Mindful Thursday’


Namchi, 20 November (IPR) The District Administrative Centre (DAC), in collaboration with Namchi District Police, observed ‘Mindful Thursday’ today at the DAC premises in Namchi.

The event was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police (Namchi), Mr Karma Gyamtso Bhutia, Additional District Collector (HQ), Mr Subash Ghimirey; Sub-Divisional Magistrate (HQ), Mr Nim Pintso Bhutia, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Namchi), Mr Wangyal Sherpa, Heads of Offices, officials, and staff members from various line departments.

As per the directive of the District Collector, Namchi, Ms Anupa Tamling, every Thursday will be observed as ‘Mindful Thursday’ across Namchi District, with each department undertaking one activity every week. For this week, the activities were organised by the Namchi District Police.

The initiative seeks to promote cultural awareness, strengthen community bonds, and underline the importance of preserving traditional practices in daily life.

As part of the cultural presentation, the Police Department performed traditional Maruni dance and song, showcasing the vibrant cultural heritage of Sikkim.

The event concluded with a message encouraging all attendees to uphold and celebrate their cultural traditions while fostering continued unity and harmony within the community.
