DCC–DLRC Meeting Reviews Banking Services and Loan Schemes under Pakyong District

Pakyong, September 05 (IPR): The quarterly District Consultative Committee (DCC) and District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting, was chaired by Zilla Upadhakshya, Ms Prabha Pradhan, in the presence of Additional District Collector, Mr Pulkit, at the conference hall of District Administrative Centre Pakyong, today.

The aim of the meeting was to review the implementation of financial schemes, assess credit flow and banking performance and ensure better coordination among stakeholders for improved financial inclusion in the district.

The meeting reviewed follow-up action points from the previous meeting and held discussions on the Credit Deposit Ratio of the district and the Annual Credit Plan for 2026–27, for the quarter ending 30.06.2026.

Sector-wise performance, particularly in agriculture and allied activities, Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), and Kisan Credit Card (KCC) implementation, was assessed. Discussions also covered the performance under priority and non-priority sectors.

The meeting also covered the review of government sponsored schemes for the financial year, promotion of SHG’s, Kisan Credit Card for Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, Housing Finance Scheme, Education Loan, Bank Wise Loans Disbursement to Minority Communities, Bank Wise Loans Disbursement to SC/ST for the financial year.

In addition, it was also informed that as per the directives of RBI, all the rural banks have to conduct at least one outdoor Financial Literacy Camp in a month, while BLBC Nodal Branches need to conduct quarterly BLBC meetings in their respective blocks, at the meeting.

During the meeting, Zilla Upadhakshya Ms Prabha Pradhan raised queries on the public concerns including cash withdrawal limits, transaction awareness and the need to install new ATM machines in convenient locations for the public, which were addressed by the officials.

Additionally, ADC Pakyong Mr Pulkit called for better coordination among banks and line departments to improve participation and awareness of government schemes. He shared suggestions on efficient business module to provide the public with assistance and expert guidance and raised concerns regarding banking issues, fraudulent activities and the measures being taken to address them.

He further emphasised the need to intensify efforts to expand the reach of the Financial Literacy and Credit Counselling (FLCC) programme to enhance financial literacy among the local population.

The meeting also had the presence of Manager RBI, Lead District Manager; Head of Offices and representatives from Agriculture DepartmentAnimal Husbandry and Veterinary Services Department; Fisheries Department; Commerce and Industries Department; MSME, DFO Gangtok along with officials from various banks operating in the district.
