DC Soreng Reviews Arrangements for Republic Day Celebration
Soreng, January 16 (IPR): District Collector Soreng, Mr Dhiraj Subedi chaired a preparatory meeting for the upcoming 77th Republic Day celebration with Head of Offices of the district at District Administrative Centre (DAC) Soreng, today.
The house discussed various aspects of the preparatory works including, invitation arrangements, venue decoration, seating arrangement, cultural performances and the felicitation of frontline warriors. It was
emphasised that the felicitation ceremony will include unrecognised frontline workers. Sector wise responsibilities were also assigned to the concerned departments and agencies.
During the meeting, the District Collector directed all district department heads to organise a cleanliness drive at the DAC premises ahead of the celebration. He further outlined department wise roles and responsibilities and suggested the inclusion of launch programmes for departmental schemes and initiatives during the event.
The DC proposed incorporating a road safety programme as part of the celebration. Additionally, ASP (Soreng) was instructed to make necessary arrangements for traffic management.
DPO (DDMA) Ms Rajni Pega suggested the inclusion of a demonstration programme to be conducted by DDMA staff along with an exhibition highlighting DDMA activities.
The meeting concluded with a detailed discussion on the programme schedule.
Also present at the meeting were ADC (Soreng) Mr DR Bista, ADC (Development) Mr Gaayas Pega, ASP (Soreng) Mr Parsu Ram Sharma, SDM (HQ) Mr Prem K Subba, SDM (Soreng) Ms Sakchum Lepcha and SDPO (Soreng) Mr Chewang Dorjee Bhutia.
