DAC Pakyong Promotes Austerity and Sustainable Practices Through Walk Initiative

Pakyong, May 19 (IPR): In line with the government’s austerity measures and to promote sustainable practices in official functioning, District Collector Pakyong, Ms Pari Bishnoi, along with district officials, walked from the District Administrative Centre (DAC), Pakyong to the Rurban Complex to attend an official meeting today.

Accompanied by the Additional District Collector (Hq), Sub-Divisional Magistrate and other officials, the District Collector covered approximately 1.5 kilometres on foot instead of using official vehicles.

The initiative was aimed at encouraging fuel conservation and reinforcing responsible resource management. By opting to walk, the district administration sought to set an example of sustainability, discipline, and administrative accountability.

Officials stated that simple measures such as minimising unnecessary vehicle usage can make a meaningful contribution towards fuel conservation and inspire similar responsible practices among the public.
