Chief Secretary Chairs Preparatory Meeting for State-Level Gandhi Jayanti Celebration

Gangtok, September 17 (IPR): A preparatory meeting for the State-level Gandhi Jayanti Celebration 2026 was held at the Conference Hall of Tashiling Secretariat, here today, under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary, Government of Sikkim Mr R Telang.

The meeting was convened to review and finalise the arrangements for the State-level observance of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2, 2026.

Detailed discussions were held on the proposed programme schedule, venue and logistical arrangements, protocol, security, civic amenities and the allocation of responsibilities among the concerned departments.

The Chief Secretary stressed the importance of close inter-departmental coordination and timely execution of assigned responsibilities, directing all concerned officials to work in close collaboration to ensure the smooth and dignified conduct of the celebration.

The meeting was attended by Heads of Departments, Senior Police Officers, ADC Gangtok, and representatives of various concerned departments and agencies.
