Gangtok, January 6 (IPR): The Chief Secretary, Mr R Telang, chaired a preparatory meeting to review arrangements for the Republic Day 2026 celebrations at the conference hall of Tashiling Secretariat, today.
The meeting was attended by Heads of Departments (HoDs) of various departments and officers from the Army and paramilitary forces.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary reviewed the proposed sequence of events for Republic Day 2026. He stated that all activities must follow the approved programme and directed the departments to ensure coordination and timely execution. He also instructed the departments to address logistical arrangements in advance.
Arrangements for cultural programmes, including the participation of local artists, were discussed. The Chief Secretary stated that the concerned departments must ensure coordination among performers, organisers and supporting agencies.
Other departments also briefed the Chief Secretary, providing a concise update on the current status and progress of their respective assigned responsibilities.
The Chief Secretary, Mr R Telang, directed the departments to ensure coordination and complete all assigned tasks within the prescribed timelines.
