Gyalshing, September 16 (IPR): The 22nd C-Division Gyalshing League Football Tournament concluded today at Kyongsha Football Stadium, Gyalshing, with Tikjek FC emerging as the champion after defeating Darap FC in the final. The District League Champion shall advanced to play in the B-Division League under Sikkim Football Association (SFA) in December 2026.
The tournament was organised by the Gyalshing District Football Association (GDFA) in collaboration with the Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Gyalshing District, and commenced on August 28 with the participation of nine football clubs.
Mr Bhim Hang Limboo, Minister for Buildings & Housing and Labour Departments, graced the concluding ceremony as the Chief Guest, while Mr D R Limboo, Advisor- State Trading Corporation of Sikkim (STCS), was present as the Special Guest.
The concluding day also featured the finals of the Inter-School Girls’ Football Tournament and the U-15 Boys’ Football Tournament. PM Shri Government Girls’ Senior Secondary School, Gyalshing emerged as the champion in the Inter-School Girls’ Football Tournament after defeating St. Mary’s Convent School, Gyaba, by four goals to nil.
In the U-15 Boys’ Football Tournament, Young Boys Football Academy emerged as the champion after defeating St. Mary’s Convent School Boys by two goals to nil.
The school and age-group competitions provided young footballers with an opportunity to gain match experience and develop their skills through competitive football.
A formal prize distribution ceremony was held, during which prizes and awards were presented to the champion teams and outstanding players. The C Division League Champion Trophy and Runners-Up Trophy are sponsored by SBS Gyalshing Branch and SISCO Gyalshing Branch respectively every year.

Earlier, the programme commenced with a welcome address by GDFA President Mr Namyal Bhutia and vote of thanks proposed by GDFA Executive Member Mr Meewang Gyatso Bhutia.
