Knockout Futsal Tournament Concludes with Timeless Titans Emerging Champions
Gangtok, August 24(IPR): All Sikkim Physiotherapists’ Welfare Association, in technical association with the Futsal Association of Sikkim, organised the Knockout Futsal Tournament at GMC Futsal Arena, today.
The event had the presence of Minister, Cooperation Department & Rural Development Department, Mr Arun Upreti, along with MLA-cum-Advisor, Food and Civil Supplies Department and Urban Development Department, Mr Delay Namgyal Barfungpa and Chairman, Health and Family Welfare Department, Mr Phurba Rinzing Sherpa.
The newly formed executive members of the association were the organising team for the tournament. The event was primarily aimed at providing healthcare workers with an opportunity to engage in sports and recreational activities while promoting the importance of fitness, physical well-being, and a healthy lifestyle.
The final day commenced with an exhibition match between Singtam Hospital and STNM Hospital, with STNM Hospital emerging victorious with a score of 2–0.
This was followed by the second exhibition match between Chairman V and Riser Doctors. Chairman V, secured a 7–5 victory over Riser Doctors.
The event also featured a special dance performance by students of Sikkim Professional University.
The final match was played between Ayush 11 and Timeless Titans. Timeless Titans secured a 5–1 victory over Ayush 11 and emerged as the champions of the Knockout Futsal Tournament.
Thereafter, the teams that participated in the exhibition matches were felicitated. Mr Nima of Timeless Titans was adjudged the Highest Scorer, while Mr John, also from Timeless Titans, was awarded the Best Goalkeeper. The Best Team Award was presented to Team Blazers, while Adrenaline FC received the Fair Play Team Award.
Also present were students from different educational institutes and other dignitaries.
