Closing Programme of Poshan Maah 2026 held at Kabi BAC

Kabi, Oct 8: Poshan Maah 2026 closing programme was successfully conducted at BAC hall Kabi, in the presence of the Zilla Panchayat of Kabi Rongpa GPU as the Chief Guest, along with the Longbu Panchayat, Panchayat President (PP) of Rongpa and Panchayat of Gaikha Ward.

The programme was attended by representatives from SRLM, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Anganwadi Workers (AWWs), Anganwadi Helpers (AWHs), mothers, adolescent girls, DMC-Hub and Gender Specialist, Nutrition Inspector, Block Coordinator, DD-cum-CDPO ICDS and SWIs.

CDPO highlighted the key themes and objectives of Poshan Maah 2026, emphasising the importance of community participation and collective efforts towards improving nutrition and promoting healthy practices.

Nutrition Inspector delivered an informative session on dietary diversity and adequate protein intake, highlighting the importance of consuming a balanced and nutritious diet for overall health and well-being.

BPM, SRLM, spoke on the role of Poshan Maah in promoting diet diversity, consumption of locally available nutritious foods, and mobilisation of SHG members for active participation in Poshan-related programmes and community events.

DMC-Hub and Gender Specialist conducted awareness sessions on Women Helpline 181, One Stop Centre (OSC) and cervical cancer-sensitising the participants on available support services and the importance of early awareness and prevention.

The Zilla Panchayat also addressed the gathering and appreciated the collective efforts of the ICDS functionaries, SHGs, Panchayats and the community in promoting nutrition and healthy practices at the grassroots level.

As part of the closing programme, a healthy recipe competition was organised, showcasing nutritious preparations using locally available food items. Prizes were distributed to the winners in recognition of their participation and creativity.

The programme concluded on a vibrant note with Poshan songs and dances performed by Anganwadi Workers and SHG members.

The programme served as a meaningful platform to reinforce the importance of nutrition, dietary diversity, locally available nutritious foods, women's health, community participation and collective action towards building a healthier community.
