Soreng, 20 August (Information and Public Relations Department): 34th Nepali Language Day 2025 at Manggalbare S. L. Grand completion in the auditorium of Dau Gyacho Kazi Senior Secondary School. This program is jointly organized by Sphuran Literature Publication Mangalbare and Nepali Language Recognition Day Celebration Committee 2025 Mangalbare.

Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang was the chief guest in the program, said Dr. Gokul Sinha was a special guest.

The Chief Minister at his address congratulated the organizing committee on successfully organizing the program and emphasized the importance of linguistic and cultural conservation by saying “saving language is saving mankind”. He said that the promotion of Nepali language as well as other regional languages is necessary through modern digital platform commemorating the historical struggle to enlist the Nepali language Constitution.

The Chief Minister informed that the state government has also been active initiatives to enlist Lepcha, Bhotia and Limbu language in the eighth schedule of the constitution. Also, on 20th August 2026, the late Chief Minister of the state government. Narbahadur Bhandari and former MP Mrs. Dil Kumari Bhandari announced to honour the contribution to the Nepali language recognition.

Addressing the proposals submitted by the organizing committee, he assured to provide full support from the government. Also, he announced that on 17th September 2025, on the occasion of the birthday of Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi, 990 beneficiaries remaining in each constituency will be provided under Mother Empowerment Scheme. Along with this, he informed that Language Day will be celebrated at the district level from 2026.

Special guest Dr. Gopal Sinha in his address. Commemorating the Indian Nepali National Council led by Narbahadur Bhandari, mentioned that the Sikkim-citizens have significant contribution to enlist Nepali language in the eighth schedule. Along with it, he appreciated the efforts of Sikkim University to preserve language diversity by encouraging students to learn mother tongue.

On this occasion Mr. Santosh Kumar Ale, Assistant District Officer-II of Soreng and President of Nepali Language Recognition Day Celebration Committee 2025 recited his poem "Mangalamay: Mangalbare". Also he has special guest Dr. Presenting Sinha's life-introduction, expressed gratitude for her presence. He remembered the contributions made by writers and seniors during the Nepali language movement, highlighting the establishment and workplace of Sphooran Sahitya Publication Mangalabare.

The chief guest was honoured by flower garland and traditional jewelry and certificate of honor at the event. Also, testimonials were awarded to outstanding students in different languages:

2. Middle Galing Nawa Jyoti Gram Reform Association.
