Lachen, June 1: The election of the Lachen Pipon and Executive Members of the Lachen Dzomsa for the year 2026 was held at the Lachen Dzumsa today, where the existing leadership was re-elected unopposed for a second consecutive term.
Shri Cho Bandu Lachenpa and Shri Khaychotak Lachenpa will continue as Pipons, along with the current Executive Members, following overwhelming public support and consensus among the people of Lachen. The decision was taken under the advice of Shri Samdup Lepcha, Hon'ble MLA of 31 Lachen–Mangan Constituency, to ensure continuity in leadership during the ongoing developmental and restoration works in the region.
The unanimous re-election reflects the faith and confidence that the people of Lachen have in their present leadership. The Pipons and Executive Members will continue to work towards the welfare and progress of the community while safeguarding and promoting Lachen's rich customs, traditions, and cultural heritage
