Soreng, September 23 (IPR): The Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India, Mr Bhagirath Choudhary, accompanied by his spouse Mrs Anjana Choudhary, arrived today at Baiguney (Simala Retreat), Soreng District.
The Hon’ble Minister was accorded a warm reception and presented with a Guard of Honour by the 2nd IRBN Pipalay. He was received by District Collector (Soreng) Mr Dhiraj Subedi, ADC-I (Soreng) Mr DR Bista, ASP Soreng Mr Parsu Ram Sharma, Additional Director (Agriculture) Mr Pranaya Gurung, Additional Director (Horticulture) Mr Robin Gurung, Additional Chief Engineer (Agriculture) Mr Jigmee Dorjee Lepcha, (LO) Deputy Director (Horticulture) Mr Subash Tamang, DE (Irrigation) Mr Bikash Chettri, along with officers and officials of the district administration.
The Hon’ble Union Minister is on an official visit to Soreng District under the 'Poorvottar Sampark Setu' programme, which aims to strengthen agricultural linkages and promote developmental initiatives in the North-Eastern region. He will be holding an interaction programme with various District Heads of Departments on 24th September followed by site visits.
