Monthly Coordination Meeting of DEO with Political Parties held at District Administrative Centre (DAC) Soreng

Soreng, January 7 (IPR):

In compliance with the directives of the Election Commission of India (ECI), the District Election Office, Soreng, under the supervision of the District Election Officer (DEO) Mr Dhiraj Subedi convened the monthly coordination meeting with representatives of various political parties at the District Administrative Centre (DAC), Soreng, today.

The agenda of the meeting focused on key electoral matters including the identification and collection of Form 8 for correction of improper or blurred voter photographs and inaccurate voter information in the electoral roll. The meeting also reviewed preparatory measures for the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 to ensure an updated and error free electoral roll. It was further highlighted that the mapping of electors who have shifted from other States has been introduced through the BLO App and the process is currently underway.

Additionally, the appointment of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) for newly created polling parts following rationalization has been completed. Discussions were also held with political party representatives regarding the appointment of Booth Level Agents (BLAs) for newly established polling stations in Soreng District.

District Election Officer (DEO) Mr Dhiraj Subedi then, informed that DEO will be the Municipal Returning Officer (MRO) and ADC Mr DR Bista will be the Assistant Municipal Returning Officer (AMRO) for the forthcoming Soreng Nagar Panchayat Election 2026. He further, urged all political parties to extend full cooperation in maintaining the accuracy and transparency of the electoral process and emphasised the importance of active participation in all revision and election related activities.

It may be noted here, that a similar meeting of the Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) with representatives of various political parties on the same was also conducted on 06.01.2026 at District Administrative Centre (DAC), Soreng.
