Gratitude Note by the Press Secretary to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim on the successful completion of the Sikkim International Film Festival 2026

As we bring the Sikkim International Film Festival 2026 to a close, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang Golay for his impeccable support, able leadership, and a vision in making this initiative a reality. His continued focus on empowering youth and strengthening the creative and orange economy in Sikkim is truly commendable. By creating platforms like this, he is not only encouraging artistic expression but also opening new avenues of opportunity, livelihood, and global exposure for our young talents, ensuring that creativity becomes a driving force of growth for the state.

I also express my sincere gratitude to Hon’ble Governor Shri Om Prakash Mathur ji for his gracious presence during the inaugural session, which added great significance to the occasion. I further acknowledge the presence and encouragement of the Hon’ble Chief Minister’s spouse and former MLA Smt. Krishna Rai, whose support continues to inspire many.

My appreciation also goes to the entire Government of Sikkim, including the Cabinet, Legislators, Cabinet Secretary, Chief Secretary, Political Secretaries, Advisors, Chairpersons, OSDs, the Home Department, Protocol team, and all departments whose coordinated efforts ensured the seamless execution of this festival. I also extend my gratitude to my party members of SKM for their constant support and encouragement.

This collective effort has transformed a vision into a meaningful platform for cinema and creativity.

The Sikkim International Film Festival is not just an event we conclude today, but the beginning of a new chapter, one that opens doors for storytellers, nurtures local talent, and places Sikkim firmly on the cinematic map. To the film fraternity of Sikkim, this is your moment to dream bigger, create boldly, and carry forward the momentum we have built together.

Let this be the start of many more stories, many more voices, and a future where Sikkim’s creative spirit continues to shine brighter than ever.
