Redressal

In terms of Section 4 of the Sexual Harassment of Women in Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 notified vide Notification No.1/LD/RP/15 dated 18/3/2015, an Internal Complaints Committee is hereby re-constituted for the purpose of the said Act consisting of the following Officers; namely;

PUT IT IN WRITING

Tell the person what conduct you find offensive and what action you will take if it continues. For example, I find your sexual jokes offensive, I consider these to be sexual harassment and I will file a complaint if you continue to tell them to me” Date and sign the letter keep a copy and have a witness when you give it to the offender.

 

DOCUMENT YOUR INTERACTION

Document your interaction, note down the times and dates of interactions, what was said, done and the names of witnesses, if there were any, keep records of messages and emails.

>>> CONFIDE IN A TRUSTWORTHY CO-WORKER, FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER.

>>> KEEP COPIES OF PERFORMANCE EVALUATIONS AND MEMOS THAT ATTEST TO THE QUALITY OF YOUR WORK.

>> FILE A COMPLAINT WITH YOUR INTERNAL COMPLAINTS COMMITTEE.

 

YOUR COMPLAINT MUST CONTAIN:

>> Your name, Designation, and Contact number.

>> Respondent’s Name, Designation, and Contact number.

>> Nature, type of details of the complaint including time, date and location.

>> Identity of witnesses and their contact details.

>> Other potential women who have been harassed by the respondent.

>>> Report the incident

IF YOU ARE THE SUPERVISOR

>>> Take all allegations seriously

>> Take immediate Action-report the matter to the Internal Complaints Committee

>> Pay attention to the work environment
