Meghshala Trust, an ed-tech NGO from Bangalore has joined hands with CISCO CSR to impact teacher training in Sikkim. They will be introducing the Meghshala e-lessons to help teachers teaching students of Classes 1-8.
Through this e-lesson app, teachers can design their class room teaching more effectively and share the same with other teachers in online mode. With the help of the SCERT & DIETs of Sikkim, 400 teachers will be introduced to Meghshala e-lessons in the initial phase of training.
The said project is financed by CISCO CSR, an exemplary generous step by them to help change the learning outcomes in schools in the NE States. Meghshala and CISCO have already implemented similar program in Manipur and plan to implement in other States too.
The implementation of the use of Meghshala e-lessons was formalised by the signing of a tripartite MoU between the Education Department, Meghshala Trust and CISCO CSR.
Jyoti Thyagarajan, the Founder Trustee of Meghshala Trust and Rohini Kamath, CISCO CSR were in Gangtok for the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on 14 August, 2019 with Shri G.P. Upadhyaya, Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Sikkim.
The occasion was graced by Secretary, Directors and Joint Directors of different sections of the Education Department.
