Mangan, 24 July (IPR): The second District Task Force meeting on Measles-Rubella (MR) was held here at chamber of the District Collector, North today.
The meeting chaired by District Collector, North, Shri Rinzing Chewang Bhutia, had the presence of Chief Medical Officer, North, Shri D.C. Sharma, Joint Director, Human Resources and Development Department, North, Smt. Deelak Pradhan, District Reproductive and Child Health Officer, Dr. Purna Basnett, Pediatrician, DHM, Dr. Roshan Poudyal, DPM, Shri B.K. Nepal, Health Educator, Shri Rinchen Bhutia, and CDPOs of North District.
The main agenda of the meeting was to discuss and prepare measures for MR vaccination campaign which is scheduled to begin on 29 July in the district.
Presiding over the meeting, DC, Shri Bhutia, asked the DTF team to duly arrange all necessary provisions before the commencement of MR campaign so that the DTF team can handle any unforeseen incident that may take place in the course of campaign. He further urged them to work in close co-ordination with school faculties in order to achieve 100 percent outcome.
Furthermore, Shri Bhutia asked the house to ensure proper maintenance of “Cold Chain Point” in case of power outage. He also instructed to the DTF team to keep standby an ambulance vehicle during the vaccination session in case of adverse event following immunization (AEFI).
During the meeting, Shri Bhutia assured to extend all possible help from his end to the DTF team as to make the mission a success.
Chief Medical Officer, North, Dr. Sharma briefed the background of MR campaign and updated the house about the MR campaign that is schedule to kick-off on July 29 from Mangan Senior Secondary School.
The month-long District level MR campaign will have a total of 381 sessions in 17 different schools and 16 ICDS centre of the district. The said campaign will conclude on the first week of September 2019.
