Mangan, 21 June: Each Friday; Field Day was conducted today at Tingchim, Mangan and Mantam by Commissioner cum Secretary, LRMDD, Mrs Ambika Prabhan, and District Collector, North, Shri Raj Yadav, IAS along with DFO-Forest, SE Roads, Addl. Director-SSDMA, Joint Director-Mines & Geoglogy, DD DDMA North, SDM Dzongu, RO Dzongu, BDO Mangan, AE-BAC, Panchayats President,Concern RS,other Field Officers and staffs.
During the visit, the following decisions were taken by the team:
- As per the recent weather warning, North Sikkim is in high alert so DC (North), Shri Raj Yadav, IAS, had conversation with Secretary, LRMDD to provide NDRF for the monsoon precaution as soon as possible.
a). It is found that due to the heavy landslides at Tingchim village eight families had been affected so all of them are evacuated to the Government buildings (PHSC quater, Panchayat Bhawan & Community hall) by the Administration with the help of Panchayat already. Team checked all necessary things for the families during meeting.
b). The compensation for all the affected land owners have been sanctioned on spot and will be disbursed soon.
c). Due to the landslides water source of village was totally washed out so alternate temporary restoration has been done and additional two syntex and ten coils of poly pipes will be provided to the village by the District Administration as per request made by Panchayat for sufficient supply.
d). During visit it is found that two three big boulders were there at the peak of the landslides and it will be dangerous to the Village therefore all the boulder will be broke down by using chemical as assured by Addl.Director-SSDMA & Joint Director- Mines & geological Department. Next week team will visit the site again to see the feasibility for the same.
e). While visiting it is found that footpath and railing of PHSC,Tingchim found damaged so the repair of this was sanctioned on spot in convergence with DLRC and MGNERGA.
a). Approach road to the Mangan Food Godown was found damaged so the protection wall is needed and will be sanctioned after receiving proper estimate as assured by the Secretary LRMDD.
b). Team visited Old SNT complex and it is decided that to formulate composite plan for Mangan reg Drain system, All estimates will be sent after conducting one meeting with all stakeholders soon.
- MANTAM VILLAGE
a). Three GPUs were totally Cut off due the Mantam landslides. Therefore team went to review the progress of restoration.
b). Team conducted a meeting with SE-Roads, CWC, NHPC and all the Panchayats President regarding the temporary foot suspension bridge and restoration of roads. All the works will be started at the earliest by PWD and estimate will be provided to Secretary LRMDD as all works sanctioned on spot.
c). As reported by the Panchayats the Food Stock Position is not adequate therfore DCSO(North) will be directed to supply as soon as possible.
d). The compensation of road to the land owner is still pending. Therefore same will be taken care by Secretary LRDD as assured.
