Namchi, 21st June: International Yoga Day Celebration With Neighborhood Youth Parliament at Namchi,South Sikkim organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra Namchi in collaboration with Sports Authority to India.
Mr. Robin Acharya State Youth Awardee ( NYKS Sikkim) attended Program As Resource Person.
He highlighted the different flagship program of Government of India where youth can grab the opportunity and motivate youth Tobe a active part of NYKS program where NYKS is working for youth empowerment through community development.
Sports Authority of India Students also attended the Program with Coaches of their team along with in-charge of SAI South Sikkim Mr.Vivek Kumar UNV-DYC Mrs.Sangita Dahal NYK Namchi,Acct NYK Namchi Mr Dilli Sharma.
UNV DYC Mrs Sangita Dahal brief background and the importance of yoga which is annually celebrated on 21st June.An international yoga day was declared unaimously by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).Yoga is the physical,mental and spiritual practice originated in India.The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi bis his UN address suggested the date of 21 June, as it is the longest day of the year in the northern Hemisphere and shares a special significance in many parts of the world.The Frist International yoga Day was observed around the world on 21st June 2015.
Theme for this year is Yoga for Heart.IEC materials booklet on different flagship program of Government of India were also distributed by Nehru Yuva Kendra Namchi.
