Gyalshing, 18 Jun (IPR): Hon’ble Health Minister, Dr. M.K. Sharma, visited District Hospital Gyalshing (DHG) today. He was accompanied by Shri Sangay Lepcha, Deputy Speaker (SLA); Shri L.N. Sharma, Hon’ble Minister for FS&ADD, H&CCDD, AHLF & VS, IPR and Printing Department; Shri B.H. Limboo, Hon’ble Minister PHE & Water Security; Shri Aditya Golay, MLA (Soreng-Chakung); Shri Vishal Chauhan, Commissioner cum Secretary (Health); along with other officials of the Health Department.

Dr. Sharma took extensive tour of the hospital premises along with other Ministers and interacted with the patients and medical staffs exclusively where proper care along with adequate health facilities to be provided by the Hospital was directed by the Health Minister to the staffs of DHG. 

Addressing the medical officials during the visit, Dr. Sharma stated that they have been appointed to provide Human Services to the public hence it is their duty to do the necessary duties in completing their tasks at hand. He urged them to step beyond their duty hours and provide services as a form of social sservice.

He mentioned that the Government is adamant to leave no stones unturned to achieve better health facilities for the people of West district but they must also understand that all progress and work needs to be done in proper manner hence patience needs to be maintained by the public.

He also highlighted that it was his maiden visit to West district hence he wanted the public and medical staffs to know that the Government is keeping West district of Sikkim as a priority. He further assured that shortages will be met in due time. He later visited the Ayush Hospital at Kyongsa, West Sikkim.
