New Delhi, 18 Jun (IPR): State Tourism & Civil Aviation and Commerce & Industries Minister, Shri Bedu Singh Panth, met Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) of Tourism and Culture, Shri Prahlad Singh Patel, in New Delhi today and congratulated him for his victory in the recent Lok Sabha election and discussed various issues related to promoting healthy and responsible tourism in Sikkim.
Shri Patel suggested the Government of Sikkim to explore innovative new projects under Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Heritage Augmentation Drive (PRASHAD) scheme to develop pilgrimage and heritage destinations in Sikkim. He also assured that after Cabinet’s decision the Ministry would release the pending payments of all ongoing projects under Swadesh Darshan Scheme.
State Tourism Minister, Shri Panth, requested the Minister to support the Tourism sector of Sikkim to develop tourist destinations preserving natural beauties of Sikkim especially in the least developed West Sikkim district.
Shri Patel assured him all possible help in strengthening and developing the Tourism sector of Sikkim.
