Training on Commissioning of Electronic Voting Machine and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail

Mangan, April 1 (IPR): In view of General Election 2019, District Election Officer (DEO) cum Returning Officer (RO), North, Shri Raj Yadav, IAS conducted the training on Commissioning of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT), today here at new conference hall of District Administrative Centre (DAC), Mangan. The training programme had the presence of General Observer (GO), North, Dr. Pratibha Singh, IAS, Superintend of Police, North, Mr. Kunzang Dorjee Bhutia and Authorized Engineers of Bharat Electronic Limited, Bangaluru.
A day long training programme was organized for the Sector Magistrates about how to conduct the EVM’s commissioning process. On the training session, DEO/RO, Shri Yadav gave necessary suggestions to the officials about measures to be taken at the time of conducting EVM’s commissioning process.
He asked the Sector Magistrates to take necessary precautionary steps during the process of linking of Control Unit, Ballot Unit and VVPATs and while displaying the list of voters after checking it thoroughly. Further, DEO/RO informed all necessary information related to commissioning of EVM/VVPAT.
The commissioning of EVM for Parliamentary Constituency and Assembly Constituency will take place on 2nd and 3rd April respectively.
