First randomization of EVMs/VVPATs for 12 Assembly Constituencies & Parliamentary Constituency conducted

Gangtok, 20 Mar (IPR): As per the guidelines of Election Commission of India, first randomization of EVMs and VVPATs for 12 Assembly Constituencies and Parliamentary Constituency was conducted at DC Office today. The randomization was conducted through EMS Software in the presence of District Election Officer (East), Mr. Kapil Meena, District NIC officials and representatives of political parties. The randomization of Sangha was conducted through EVM Randomization software v1.0 developed by NIC Sikkim State Unit.

The DEO briefed about the randomization process and EMS software to the representatives of political parties. He informed that tomorrow ADC (Hq), Mr. Jamyang Bhutia, shall be in-charge officer for shifting and transportation of all EVMs and VVPATs from existing warehouse to the Strong Room prepared at Brihaspati Parsai Senior Secondary School in Ranipool. This exercise will be done in presence of political parties and warehouse opening will take place at 8 am in CEO Office, Baluwakhani.
