Gyalshing, 24th January, 2019 (IPR): Shri. P. D. Rai, Hon’ble M. P. (Lok Sabha) visited the District Hospital to assess the progress and the state of the health facilities available at the District Hospital Gyalshing. Shri. P. D. Rai along with the District Collector Dr. A. B. Karki; CMO West Shri. T. Namgyal and other officials inspected the District Hospital in a thorough manner.
During his visit he interacted with the patients and Medical staffs whilst checking the various facilities as mentioned by the Chief Medical Officer. He then mentioned that his surprise visit to the District Hospital was to see the ground reality of the treatment given to patients and the various medical tests available for the public. He mentioned that the state has always given priority to Health and Education hence the visit was necessary. The Hon’ble M. P. took assessment of the existing facilities which are as per the Indian Public Health Standards (IPHS) Norms. After the thorough assessments of the District Hospital he stated that a significant improvement has been made by the Department of Health while keeping West District on priority. Lastly, he expressed his satisfaction on the available infrastructure, manpower and equipment in the District Hospital Gyalshing.
The MP later visited the 8th Mile area of Gyalshing to inspect the recently constructed water distribution chamber for the public of 8th Mile.
The MP also interacted with the local public of 8th Mile area whilst handing over the drinking water connection order to them in the presence of DC West, Chairman (GMC), DE (PHE) and the local gentry.
The Water distribution chamber funded by the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (M.P.L.A.D.S.) is all set to cater to the needs of around 70 households.
