The Seventh Session (Part V) of the Ninth Assembly of Sikkim Legislative Assembly commenced today

Gangtok, 19th December  (IPR) :  The Seventh Session (Part V) of the Ninth Assembly of Sikkim Legislative Assembly commenced today.
Chief Minister Shri Pawan Chamling, also the Minister-in-Charge of Finance, Revenue and Expenditure Department, Government of Sikkim, presented the Third Supplementary Demands for Grants for the Financial Year 2018-19.

The third batch of Supplementary Demands for Grants for 2018-19 includes 29 grants and appropriations. The Demands for Grants comprises of gross additional expenditure of Rs. 33427.95 lakh comprising of Rs. 28278.14 lakh on Revenue Account and Rs. 5149.81 lakh on Capital Account. Of this, the proposals involving net cash outgo aggregates to Rs. 23827.94 lakh.

Discussion and voting on the Supplementary Demands for Grants will take place on the second day of the Session.

During the Legislative Business, Shri R.B. Subba, Minister-in-Charge of Law, Legal, Legislative & Parliamentary Affairs Department, Government of Sikkim presented the Sikkim Lokayukta (Amendment) Bill, Bill No. 27 of 2018.

The Sikkim Lokayukta (Amendment) Bill, Bill No. 27 of 2018 has been framed to amend the provision of Section 9 and Section 34 of the Sikkim Lokayukta Act, 2014 to streamline and to strengthen the functioning of the Sikkim Lokayukta Act, 2014.

Discussion and voting on the Bill will take place on the 20th of December, 2018, the second day of the Session.
