Namchi, 10th December(IPR): The Chief Minister Shri Pawan Chamling inaugurated the newly built Maniram Peri Gumpa at Maniram Bhanjyang today. He was accompanied by Advisor Ecclesiastical Affairs Department Mr. P. T.Bhutia, Chairman’s, Advisors and public at large.
At the onset the Chief Minister offered his prayer at the main shrine and sought blessings from Khabje Mindrolling His Holiness Khochhen Rinpoche from Dehradun. Thereafter, the CM took a brief tour of the other areas of the gumpa.
Addressing, the colossal congregation comprising of monks, devotees and public from far and wide the Chief Minister extended his best wishes on the completion of the Peri gumpa. He informed that this gumpa is one of the largest gumpa of the Tamang community in the state as well as in the country. He also declared this gumpa for the public and updated that the remaining construction of this gumpa will commence at the earliest. He also
urged the public to cooperatively maintain the sacredness of this shrine. The Chief Minister also delved in brief on the teachings of Lord Buddha and advocated to follow his enlightened path and further emphasized on spirituality and said that it is one of the most important attribute that an individal can possess.
He also announced that a Tamang study centre will be set up soon which will focus on the preservation of the various aspects of the communities. A statue of Pem Dorji meme who is credited for with producing the first ever damphu alongwith the installation of the Tamang damphu which will be constructed shortly, provided the location for this can be identified soon. The CM added that the State Government will be institutionalizing the unique features of the various communities existent in the state in order to preserve the tradition and cultures. The Chief Minister also brought to light that the Limboo and Tamang seat can be provided by the central government.
Additionally, the Chief Minister said that the state government has always focused on the welfare of Tamang community and that the Tamang language is being taught at school level. Beside this, Sonam Lochhar has also been declared as a state holiday in the State. The CM also encouraged the Tamang youths to be constructive in nature and also appear for various competitive exams.
He also highlighted that the State Government has established various Buddhist religious circuit namely that of Samdruptse, Tathagata Tsal and Chenrezig Singkham Riwo Potala hence, the state has become an abode of the gods.
He also informed about the range of initiatives undertaken by the State Government in health, rural development, animal husbandry and many more. He also informed that the State Government has sanctioned to construct different religious establishment for various communities in the State.
The CM further reiterated that from the upcoming janta mela, grants will be provided for the purchase of shentap for lamas and other religious attires for the religious leader belonging to various communities. He also apprised that an employment mela will be conducted soon where jobs will be given under the scheme one family one job.
During the course of the program the monks fraternity felicitated the Chief Minister for his unwavering efforts in upliftment of the State and in also assisting in developing of the Maniram Peri gumpa. The Chief Minister also felicitated Architect of the gumpa Mr. Kiran Rasaily, Advisor Ecclesiastical Affairs Department Mr. P. T.Bhutia, founding members and artisans of the gumpa.
