Gangtok, 26th November (IPR): Hon’ble Minister of State of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Mr. Anant Kumar Hegdearrived in the capital last evening.
The main objective of his visit is to discuss and update the initiatives undertaken by Ministry of Skill Development, Government of India with the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim.
This morning, the Hon’ble Minister called on the Hon’ble Governor at Raj Bhawan, where they had a succinct talk and after that the Hon’ble Minister visited the Government Fruit Preservation, Singtam. He was accompanied by the Secretary, Ms. C.C Bhutia and the Additional Secretary, Ms. Sunita Pradhan of Skill Development & Capacity Building, Government of Sikkim. The Managing Director, Mr. Pawan Awasthy gave a round of the factory and the Hon’ble Minister was shown around the factory where the MD explained how every product is made from organic products and packaged and manufactured. The Hon’ble Minister then interacted with the staff of the factory.
After that, the Hon’ble minister visited ITI, Rangpo and had an interactive session with the students and faculty. The Hon’ble Minister was welcomed by the faculty where he had an interactive session with the students who apprised him on their courses and skill development. A presentation on ITI Rangpo was also made and the Hon’ble Minister encouraged and stressed on the upscale of skills with preparedness.
