Jorethang presented a unique Auction of Stars and Heros of Sikkim in a special function organised at the Indoor badminton hall

Jorethang, 25th November (IPR): In a first of its kind event in the state of Sikkim, Badminton Association of Jorethang presented a unique Auction of Stars and Heros of Sikkim in a special function organised at the Indoor badminton hall, Jorethang, today.

A total of sixty professional players were purchased during the exciting auction process by six different franchises. Amongst the six franchises, Speaker of Sikkim Legislative Assembly Mr KN Rai took ownership of Unique Shuttlers, Minister Mr. GM Gurung the Red Panda GMTS, Minister Arjun Kumar Ghatani owned Jorethang Rising Star, MD Nayuma Mr. Roshan Rai purchased Players for Racketers Nayuma was represented by Programme Manager Mr.Neelam Neopaney , Anjana Bhattarai represented her husband Olympian Mr Tarundeep Rai along with co-owner of Team Namchi Smasher and Mr. Satyam Rai paid for the players of team Southern Phoenix.

Each Franchisee were allowed to invest specified amount of Rs 45 thousand only for all ten players of their respective team from the kitty.

President of Badminton Association of Sikkim Mr C Zangpo was the observer to see the process of auction while Mr. Jigmee Namgyal, President of Jorethang Badminton Association was the Organizing Chief behind the tournament who also informed that the tournament is a prelude to Jorethang Maghey Sakranti Mela 2019.

Mr. Amon Rai became the most expensive player who was sold for rupees fourteen thousand six hundred. The bidding started from the base price of Rs. 3000/- for every player
