Gyalshing, 20 Nov (IPR): First Level Checking (FLC) of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) & Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs) concluded on 19 Nov in the presence of District Magistrate-cum-DEO, Dr. A.B. Karki, ADC (West), Shri Karma Lodey Lepcha, SDM Gyalshing, Shri Tushar Nikhare, Election officials along with the representatives of different political parties of the State here at the warehouse located at Kyongsa in West Sikkim.
Mock poll on 23 machines was successfully conducted today as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India in the presence of political parties. Further, training and awareness will be conducted after Nov and a total of 40 each machines have been allotted for training purposes in presence of political parties.
A total of 390 Control Units was checked out of which 06 were rejected. 390 Ballot Units were checked out of which 01 was rejected. A total of 412 VVPATs were checked out of which 19 were rejected.
The defective EVMs and VVPATs will be shifted to the manufacturer (BEL) as mentioned by the Returning Officer.
The Mock poll details are as follows:
- 1200 votes in 1% machines (05 machines)
- 1000 votes in 2% machines (09 machines)
- 500 votes in 2% machines (09 machines)
