Mangan,June 14 (IPR) : Mr Pintso Namgyal Lepcha- Minister Forest and Environment Department cum Area MLA Dzongu conducted an extensive survey of the disaster affected areas from Chandey to Ambithang, today.
Also present were Mr Arun Chettri-SDM Dzongu, Mr Mani Kumar Rai and Mr Wangtal Sherpa-RO Land Revenue,officials of concerned departments and general public.
On the outset, he met with DM Mangan, Mr Hem Kumar Chettri to assess and discuss the situation and the measures that have been taken by the concerned authorities for immediate relief to the public. Thereafter, he met and interacted with the affected families from Chandey and Ambithang and assured them assistance. He also handed over ex gratia compensation to the 3 affected families of Ambhithang. Commending the efforts of the district administration he further urged the concerned officials present to continue taking promt measures in assessing and mitigating the situation and assisting the public in every way possible.
Earlier, the Minister as well as the officials assisted in clearing debris near Lal Bazaar, which has now established temporary route for vehicular movement
