Gyalshing,June 13: In view of the incessant rainfall since couple of days, District Administration, Gyalshing led by SDM Gyalshing Shri N.B. Bishwakarma, SCS accompanied by DPO Disaster Management Shri Ganesh Kr. Rai conducted safety inspection to NHPC Dam constructed at Rangit River below Hingdam. All heads of Dam Management were present who explained the safety features of the Dam.
As per the management, they have installed 2 EWS upstream which alerts any rise in water level and the control gates of the Dam will be adjusted accordingly. After the alert message is received through EWS, they alert the downstream through warning hooters which are placed at the Dam, Legship Bazar and the Power House at Sagbari as well as they also have ready vehicle with public announcement system which will be deployed to alert the residents downstream.
All the SOPs, Guidelines, DMPs have been strictly followed to ensure public safety.
