GOC 33 Corps calls on Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Pawan Chamling

Gangtok, 12 Nov (IPR): General Officer Commanding, 33 Corps, Lieutenant General Shri C.P. Mohanty, called on Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Pawan Chamling at his official residence in Mintokgang today. He was accompanied by GOC, 17 Mountain Division, Major General N.S. Raja Subramani.

Lt. Gen Shri Mohanty congratulated the CM for dedicating his vision and turning it into reality by making Sikkim the finest State of the country. He stated that it was one of the most well maintained States and also applauded the Sikkimese people for their remarkable dedication and simplicity which is evident in every field and social structure. He put forth his views and stated that improving the road connectivity further will help in more tourism boom for the State. He also informed the CM about significant vacancies in the Sikkim Scouts which should be filled up by local unemployed youths since it is dedicated to border defence and mountain warfare.

The CM said that issue regarding better connectivity has been placed at the Centre many times. He stated that the relation between the State Government and the Army has always been wonderful and he thanked him for all the help extended for the cooperation and safeguard of the Sikkimese people.
