First Round of Training for Counting Supervisors, Counting Assistants and Micro Observers

Mangan, May 14 (IPR): Following the directives of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sikkim, the Office of the District Election Officer organised the inaugural round of training sessions for Counting Supervisors, Counting Assistants and Micro Observers at KVK Hall, Pentok today .
This session laid the foundation for the effective execution of duties during the upcoming electoral counting process.
DC-cum-DEO, Mr Hem Kumar Chettri extended gratitude to all participants and facilitators for their active engagement and commitment towards ensuring the integrity and efficiency of the electoral process. He thanked everyone for their efficiency during the election process, acknowledging their contributions towards ensuring a smooth polling process. He urged everyone to aim for zero margin of error on counting day. Similarly, ADM Mangan Mr Vishu Lama encouraged all trainees to make the most of the opportunity.
The session was led by Mr Kiran Thatal, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SLMT), Chungthang and Mr Palden Lachungpa, District Civil Supplies Officer (DLMT), Mangan District. The training sessions emphasised a comprehensive understanding and adherence to counting regulations. Participants were briefed on procedural intricacies, ensuring a thorough comprehension of their roles and responsibilities.
The training was divided into two sessions, morning and afternoon, with a total of 136 participants receiving training in the first round.
Today, 32 counting supervisors and 62 counting assistants were trained, while tomorrow, 42 micro observers will undergo their first round of training. Subsequently, the second round of training will be held on May 21 and 22, followed by the third round on May 29.
