The second phase of training on New Criminal Law which will be implemented froat DAC Conference hall Sorengm July was conducted

The second phase of training on New Criminal Law which will be implemented from July was conducted by Mr J Jayapandiyan SP (Gyalshing) at DAC Conference hall Soreng in the presence of Mr Sameer Pradhan SDPO Soreng, SHOs and Officers from various Police Stations from Soreng District.
During the training SP (Gyalshing) briefed on the comparative study of Bharatiya Sakshya Act (BSA), 2023 and Indian Evidence Act (IEA), 1872. He discussed on changes of section from Indian Evidence Act 1872 to Bharatiya Sakshya Act 2023 respectively.
He directed officers to go through the changes made from IEA 1872 to BSA 2023 such as relevant facts, coercion, statement of fact in issue or relevant fact, opinion of experts, oral evidence shall be direct, electronic and digital record shall have the same legal effect, validity and paper records to be maintained.
Mr Jayapandiyan further explained the section that have been added in BSA 2023, Definition of Evidence, Police Confession, Documentary Evidence, Secondary Evidence, Joint Trails and mapping of corresponding of IEA to BSA sections.
