Day 1 of Postal Ballot Voting under Pakyong District

Pakyong, 9 April (IPR): The Postal Ballot voting in regard to the General Elections 2024, commenced at the facilitation centres under Pakyong District in the presence of polling agents from various political parties.
The Facilitation Centre I at Dikling Senior
Secondary School is set up for the casting of postal ballots by Category 1 (Presiding and Polling Officers).
The Facilitation Centre II at RURBAN Complex, RDD, is set up for Category 2 (district police personnel).
Mr Tashi Chophel, District Election Officer cum District Collector Pakyong, conducted a thorough inspection of the facilitation centres to ensure that the electoral process is carried out seamlessly. This step was taken to identify any gaps in preparedness and make necessary arrangements to facilitate the smooth conduct of the electoral process.
The day witnessed active participation of both Category 1 and Category 2 personnel in the democratic process of postal ballot voting.
To ensure the integrity of the voting process, the postal ballots were collected from both facilitation centres and securely stored in the strong room located at Dikling Senior Secondary School.
The facilitation centres situated at Dikling Senior Secondary School will be open for postal ballot voting until April 12th for Category 1.
The centre at the Rurban Complex, RDD, will remain open for Category 2 till April 10, Category 3 for 11th- 12th April and Category 4 for 13th – 14th April .
During the voting process, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Sikkim Armed Police (SAP), Indian Reserve Battalion (IRBn), and Sikkim Police were posted for the security of the facilitation centres.
