North East States Youth Conclave and Amalgation 2018 concludes

Gangtok, 30 Oct (IPR): Three-daylong North East States Youth Conclave and Amalgation concluded here at MG Marg in Gangtok today. Chairman, Gangtok Municipal Corporation, Shri Ashish Rai, graced the valedictory function as chief guest in the presence of Secretary, Sports and Youth Affairs, Shri SD Dhakal, Director, Mr. Kamal Chettri, along with other officials and staffs.

The atmosphere of the closing event took a festive look with all the students participating and colourful and diverse cultural dances and folk songs which was the final competition between the North Eastern States.

Shri CL Ghimerey, Shri Naren Gurung and Shri Sakun Rai were the judges for the cultural programme.

The chief guest along with other officials distributed prizes to the winners of respective fields. In the quiz competition, Arunachal Pradesh secured the first place with Assam and Sikkim taking the second place in a tie and Tripura standing third.

In the painting competition, Assam, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Nagaland were chosen as the best five States in the category.

Similarly, for cultural dance, Manipur bagged the first place, second place went to Sikkim and Assam stood third.

For the folk song, Assam won the first place while Sikkim stood second and Mizoram came in third.

Certificates were also presented to all the participants. Programme Officers of National Service Scheme were also presented certificate of appreciation.

The welcome address was delivered by Sports and Youth Affairs Director, Shri Kamal Chettri, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Shri KL Rai.
