Ravangla, 31 Oct (IPR): Hon’ble Chief Minister Mr. Pawan Chamling alongside Minister for Tourism, Irrigation, India-Nepal Uttarakhand River Projects, Government of Uttarakhand, Mr. Satpalji Maharaj, attended Sadbhawana Satsang Samaroha organized by Manav Utthan Sewa Samiti (MUSS) at Tataghata Tsal in Ravangla today. Also present were SLA Speaker, Mr. K.N. Rai, Area MLA cum Minister, Mr. D.D. Bhutia, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister, Mr. Ugen Gyatso Bhutia, representatives from MUSS, various other dignitaries and devotees from others States and neighboring countries.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Chamling extended his deep appreciation in being a part of this massive congregation of followers of MUSS and also announced that the State Government will be constructing a Mandir at Gyalshing in West Sikkim.
The CM spoke in detail about the importance of spiritual well-being and its connection for the advancement of humanity and nature alike. He underlined that nature and the people of Sikkim has been coexisting in harmony and will continue to do so. Additionally, he implored that Sikkim is one of the States which is filled with abundant nature bounty and is a preferred religious destination.
He also lauded Satpalji Maharaj for his immense knowledge and in being an exponent of Manav Dharma. He also recalled the visit of Maharaj at Siddheshwara Dham in 2015 and how his visit aided in increase of tourism at the dham.
The CM reiterated that Janta Mela will commence from 17 Dec and directed the concerned departments and stakeholders to identify the genuine beneficiaries in order for them to get the State Government welfare schemes. He also dedicated the prestigious Future Policy Gold Award that he received at the United Nations FAO, headquarters in Rome to the public of the State and the nation.
Speaking during the occasion, Satpalji Maharaj extended his congratulations to the CM for being bestowed with the Future Policy Gold Award and emphasized how this award will give further impetus in the practice of Organic Farming in the State. He further commended the State for it’s innumerable achievements and in being one of the most exemplary small States in the sector of Organic Farming, tourism, infrastructural development and in maintaining peace and tranquility.
Maharaj ji added that Sikkim has in due course of time become one of the shining example of growth and development and highlighted that the other States need to emulate this achievement. He spoke in detail about the historical background of Lord Buddha and how he gained enlightenment and urged the attendees to imbibe the same in their life. Moreover, he also spoke in brief about the significance of spirituality, kindness and being a better human being.
The CM was also felicitated by Satpalji Maharaj on behalf of MUSS for his relentless service towards the upliftment of the State and its citizen and also in receiving the Future Policy Gold Award.
Earlier, the CM and the dignitaries took part in shanti paath puja conducted by lamas and pandits at the premises of Tathagata Tsal.
